Art Van Furniture and WCSX partner to raise funds for Ilitch Charities for Children
Over $6,000 was raised for Ilitch Charities for Children (ICC) on Tuesday evening, October 24, 2006 at a benefit evening hosted by Art Van Furniture and WCSX. Guests enjoyed wine selected by John Jonna and light hors d'oeurves by Merchants Fine Wine. There was also a silent auction of autographed memorablia from the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings as well as classic rock CDs and memorabilia.

Champions' Challenge Charity Softball Game returns to Comerica Park
Close to 5,000 people came out to Comerica Park on Saturday evening, September 9, 2006 to see the Detroit Tigers alums defeat a squad of current Detroit Red WIngs players 10-6 in a closely-fought battle to raise money for youth sports and recreation programs in the Detroit area. Ilitch Charities for Children (ICC), along with title sponsor Little Caesars, presented the 2006 Champions' Challenge Charity Softball Game. Half of the proceeds raised go to Think Detroit PAL for the establishment of a youth hockey program in Detroit. The remaining monies will be divided between ICC, the Detroit Tigers Foundation, and the Detroit Red Wings Foundation to assist with the various youth initiatives they support in metro Detroit.
A media game was also held which pitted various Detroit-area media celebrities in a fun and fast-paced match. A great time was had by all and ICC looks forward to hosting another Champions' Challenge in 2007. Visit the photo gallery for more pictures from the event.

Detroit to Fund New Infant Care Center for COTS DETROIT, MI, February 8, 2006 – Ilitch Charities for Children, the charitable arm of Ilitch Holdings, Inc., announced today that it will provide a gift of up to $150,000 over two years to help fund a new Infant Care Center for COTS (Coalition on Temporary Shelters).

| | | ILITCH CHARITIES FOR CHILDREN AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL LITTLE CAESARS AMATEUR HOCKEY LEAGUE PLAYERS DETROIT, August 3, 2005 – Ilitch Charities for Children (ICC), the charitable foundation established by the Ilitch family announced the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League scholarship winners. This year five outstanding recipients were each awarded a $2,000 scholarship.
Andrew Aulerich of Portland graduated from Portland High school with a 3.99 grade point average. He recently wrapped up his final season with the GLAHA and Little Caesars Hockey Program, which he has been a part of for nine years. He plans to attend Lawrence Technological University in the fall where he will be a member of their Division III hockey team.

| | | ILITCH CHARITIES FOR CHILDREN AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL LITTLE CAESARS AAA HOCKEY PLAYERS DETROIT, August 3, 2005 – Ilitch Charities for Children (ICC), the charitable foundation established by the Ilitch family announced the Little Caesars AAA Hockey Scholarship winners. Tiffany Homant of Traverse City, and Anthony McIntyre of Waterford were this year’s top winners, each receiving a $5,000 scholarship.
Homant, a native of Traverse City, will attend Wayne State University in the fall and plans to play for the Little Caesars 19-and-under team for one more year. She graduated with a 3.674 grade point average after splitting her senior year between Stephenson High School in Sterling Heights and Central High School in Traverse City.
