1. What is IC?
Ilitch Charities is a non-profit organization that invests in our community's future by supporting innovative, collaborative and measurable programs in the areas of community development, human services, education and recreation through contributions from the Ilitch companies, their colleagues and the generosity of others.
Our affiliates are the Detroit Tigers Foundation, Detroit Red Wings Foundation, and Little Caesars Amateur Sports Foundation. Ilitch Charities grants have recently been awarded to City Year, the Detroit Zoological Society, the Detroit Institute of Arts, Forgotten Harvest, Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit, S.A.Y. Detroit, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, 2-1-1 On the Go! Focus: HOPE, Mosaic Youth Theatre, C.O.T.S. (Coalition on Temporary Shelter), the Junior Achievement Finance Park in Detroit, the Greening of Detroit, the Guidance Center, and Special Olympics of Michigan. Ilitch Charities also supports the Little Caesars AAA Hockey program and the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League through the establishment of an annual scholarship program. We also support a number of internal programs for Ilitch companies' colleagues.
2. What fundraising events does IC (and our affiliates) hold?
IC hosts a variety of fundraising events throughout the year to raise money that we in turn contribute back to the community. Please see below for a list of past events and a schedule of recent signature events for all the affiliates:

- August 15, 2011 - "Celebrity Golf Classic" held at Oakland Hills Country Club
*Other past events include the Champions' Challenge charity softball game, Oscar Night America, and Ride for the Team.
Detroit Tigers Foundation
- August 18, 2011 - "Keeping Kids in the Game" held at Comerica Park
*Next year's signature event planned for Summer 2012.
Detroit Red Wings Foundation
- November 9, 2011 - "Toast of Hockeytown" held at Joe Louis Arena
3. How can I help?
You can always make a one-time contribution to Ilitch Charities to support the important work we do in the community. Please see question #5 for where to send a check payable to Ilitch Charities. Since we are a non-profit organization, all donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Please consult your tax advisor for further questions on tax implications. If you would like get involved with any of our events, or host an event and designate Ilitch Charities as the beneficiary, please call (313) 471-6340.
4. Is IC looking for sponsors?
Yes! If you are interested in being a sponsor for an event, or have another idea concerning sponsorship, call (313) 471-6340. Exciting opportunities exist with our special events, which are often connected to the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers.

6. Can I make donations online?
Not yet, but we hope to provide that option soon. Contributions may be made by mail, or simply contact Kim Moses, manager of Ilitch Charities (313) 471-6340 and she can assist you.
7. Where does the money go?
Funds raised by the foundation are distributed to non-profit organizations in the form of grants. These grants are designated for innovative, collaborative and measurable programs in the areas of community development, human services, education and recreation.
8. Where do groups apply for grants?
At this time, we do not have any funding opportunities available. Check back often as we post opportunities to this site when they are available.
9. What are the Ilitch Charities Hockey Scholarships and when are they awarded?
The Ilitch Charities Hockey Scholarships are awarded each spring to student athletes from the Little Caesars AAA hockey program and the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League (LCAHL). This $2,500 scholarship, awarded to a maximum of ten (10) student athletes annually, is applicable towards college tuition from an accredited college or university. Applications for the Ilitch Charities Hockey Scholarship are available in January of the year of the award. Look on the home page for updates!
